Humphrey & Stretton's Acoustidor Range core construction enable our doors to achieve high levels of acoustic performance with the addition of simple perimeter seals ranging from 29db to 47db.
Perimeter (Head and Jambs) & Threshold
Application:
single leaf/single swing.
Acoustic performance:
Weighted Sound Reduction Index (Rw): 31dB. Sound Transmission Class (STC): 31dB.
Smoke performance:
both seals will meet the smoke leakage performance requirement of BS 5588 when tested separately under the conditions of BS 476 Part 31.1.
IS7080 Perimeter Seal
A neat, compact perimeter seal which can be used to replace the door stop on steel or timber door frames.
Seal material: Thermoplastic rubber.

Fixing: Fixing screws are supplied, fixing holes are pre-drilled and slotted to allow the seals to be adjusted and positioned accurately. A flexible PVC cover strip to conceal fixings is supplied.
Finish: Silver anodized aluminium with grey cover strip and black flexible insert. Bronze anodized aluminium with black cover strip and black flexible insert.
IS8010 Automatic Threshold Seal

Fixing: Fixing screws are supplied, fixing holes are pre-drilled. Striker button which locates the door jamb, is supplied. This seal may be mortised (end plates supplied measuring 21mm x 61mm), or may be face-fixed (no end plates supplied).
Durability: Independently tested, the seal completed 1,000,000 cycles without failure.
Adjustment: self-levelling on uneven surfaces - can be adjusted independently of the fixing screws.
Finishes: Silver anodized aluminium with either silver or bronze anodized end plates. Grey PVC insert.
A number of factors will affect the actual sound insulation performance achieved, these include:wall construction, acoustic conditions in thereceiving room and the surface area of doors as a percentage of total wall area.
Humphrey & Stretton's 44mm thick FD3O construction will provide an approximate sound reduction value of 29dB whilst the 54mm thick FD6O construction will provide approximately 32dB.
Where higher sound insulation is required, purpose designed acoustic doorsets can be supplied. For further information please contact out Technical Department.
Humphrey & Stretton's X-Ray doorsets are specifically designed to meet the needs of hospitals and other similar establishments where radiation protection is required.
The standard door leaf construction is two 20mm softwood rafts separated by a leadline membrane to as thickness in keeping with the anticipated radiation levels (designed by a BS code number e.g. BS Code No. 4 indicates lead of 1.80mm thickness). Doors are faced with 4mm plywood or chipboard veneered to suit customers' requirements.

The lead lining protection also extends to the door frames to ensure that an effective barrier is formed against angled radiation. For information on glazed aperture in X-Ray doors, please contact our Technical Department.
